Watching the news or looking at your social media feed, it’s easy to believe that the UK is more divided than ever. The voices of those who seek to spread hate and division are loud.

But the reality is that millions of people across the UK show up for each other, their neighbours and their communities every day. Acts of hope happen all the time - whether it's litter picking in local parks, hosting coffee mornings, donating to food banks, volunteering our time, creating spaces of welcome or working together to make our streets safer.

These everyday stories too often go untold, or are drowned out by louder voices. So, in May 2026, individuals, organisations, community and faith groups, are coming together to celebrate and inspire ‘A Million Acts of Hope’ across the UK.

From 13th - 20th May, there will be a national week of action celebrating kindness, connection and the everyday ways we support one another. A Million Acts of Hope is about making visible the solidarity and compassion we know already exists in our communities.

What gives you hope?

In the lead up to this week of action, we’d love to share quotes, stories or reflections from the Boaz community of supporters about acts of hope they’ve witnessed or been part of in their local areas.

No act is too small to share. It could be a smile, a moment of connection with a neighbour or an event that brought people together. It could be something you noticed, something you experienced or something you did yourself. Whether it’s through your workplace, place of worship or local community group, we want to celebrate these acts of hope and make visible the solidarity and compassion we know already exists in our communities.

We’d love to hear from as many of you as possible. Please get in touch via [email protected] to share an act of hope with us. We’re planning to share these quotes anonymously on our social media accounts and in our upcoming Impact Report.

The more we see hope, the more hopeful we will be.
