After a 5 week series of sewing and design workshops, our clients presented the results of their collaborative project at Islington Mill, the space where they have been designing and making over previous weeks.

It was great to see people exhibit their work, which showcased a wide range of skills learned and practiced, including print design, screen printing onto fabric, hand and machine sewing, hand embroidery and pattern cutting. And of course, three different outfits created from scratch! People were confident and proud of what they had created and achieved, and rightly so! It was brilliant to see and hear clients explaining their creative process, as well as articulate the positive impact that this series of workshops has had on them personally.

Overall it was really fun, creative, uplifting and positive evening. It was great to see a wide range of people taking an interest in seeing what our clients had produced as designers and makers – from friends and supporters of Boaz, to people associated with the exhibition venue and space, as well as others who came along after hearing what was going on.
