On the 6th June 2004, Dave Smith met with a group of six friends in South Manchester, and this was the very first meeting for the Boaz Trust trustees.
With everything that is happening in the world, it hasn't felt like the right time to celebrate. And any party plans would need to wait until social distancing measures are eased, but we can still reflect on and celebrate the lives changed through the work of Boaz.
Sixteen years on and sadly our work is needed more than ever. Events unfolding around us since George Floyd was murdered have shown how far we have to go to ensure all people have the chance to reach their full potential. We stand in solidarity with those who are calling, praying and acting for an end to racism inside the immigration system and right through our societies at every level. We hope that through our work we are able to build bridges and demonstrate a better way, a way of shared learning, growing understanding, radical hospitality, a spirit of generosity and more.
THANK YOU to all our friends and supporters for making our accommodation and support service possible over the last 16 years. We look forward to celebrating with you in the future.
