Our Van-tastic Fundraiser
Our housing team need a van to help them look after Boaz homes as we increase our housing capacity. Every donation up to £10,000 will be matched!
As part of our Warm Welcome, Firm Foundations focus for 2025-26, we’ve had an amazing offer from some longstanding supporters of our work who have generously offered to match fund the first £10,000 of this campaign. This means that any donation you make towards our van project in June will effectively be doubled, until we reach our target. Supporting this campaign will help Boaz buy a nearly new van and cover the first year of running costs and it will also provide volunteering opportunities for some of the people we support who want to develop and use their maintenance and gardening skills. Your gift will be matched pound-for-pound, doubling the impact and multiplying hope.
Can you help us buy a Boaz van to maintain and expand our housing for people seeking safety in Greater Manchester?
Last year Boaz Trust provided safe, stable housing for more than 70 refugees and people seeking asylum who would otherwise have been homeless and destitute on our streets. In total we worked with 625 people through our outreach and housing-based support and we want to offer more housing to alleviate homelessness in Greater Manchester. Unfortunately the cost of running and maintaining our shared houses has increased substantially since the cost-of-living crisis.
As part of a bigger review of our housing work, we have identified that having our own van will bring multiple benefits for the sustainability of our housing provision over the next few years.
With your help, we'll be able to:
- Manage the move-ins and move-outs of people we are supporting.
- Collect and deliver donated furniture and supplies more easily.
- Reduce hire charges on vans / skips when we're preparing and renovating properties.
- Avoid paying extra contractor charges for jobs we can easily manage in-house with the right equipment.
- Build a new team of volunteer helpers to work alongside our housing staff.

If this Van-tastic fundraising campaign exceeds its target, or if the needs of this project change, additional funds will be used to support the wider work of Boaz Trust, helping us continue to provide safe, stable accommodation and specialist, trauma informed 1:1 support for people facing homelessness after seeking safety in the UK.
