Our team of support workers meet regularly with our clients to offer holistic support and encouragement. Many of our clients are unfamiliar with navigating systems and culture here in the UK, may not speak English as a first language and may lack social networks and experience which many of us rely on.
Our team offer tailored support to each of our clients. This may include help accessing basic healthcare or specialist services, planning travel to a Home Office appointment, finding volunteering opportunities, or listening while clients consider their future options.
We run a programme of recreational and vocational activities for asylum seekers and refugees in our accommodation. The programme is developed with our clients, and designed to improve wellbeing, confidence and skills, and to help with integration into the local community.
Basic living essentials
Refused asylum seekers usually have no recourse to public funds, no right to work and no means of supporting themselves. Boaz provides clients who are not eligible for a British Red Cross food parcel, with a £10 weekly allowance for food and essentials. We give an allowance as this promotes dignity and choice. We also run a monthly Free Shop where donations of food and toiletries are distributed to our clients.
