In recent months, we've seen a number of individuals, journalists and organisations making the decision to leave X. Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll also be phasing out our use of X at Boaz. There are a number of reasons we've come to this decision, which we've outlined briefly below.
While we’d love to keep engaging with all our amazing followers, ultimately the disinformation, racism and disturbing content found on the platform mean we no longer feel able to continue posting on X without compromising our values. We're also very aware of the role that X played in inciting hatred and violence against people seeking asylum in the UK last summer, as well as its owner's concerning use of the platform to interfere with UK politics.
Our values - which include being restless for justice, committed to an anti-racist approach and seeking to empower others - now feel so at odds with the trajectory that X is on. Moving forward, we’re striving to be better at living out these values in every area of our work, including our digital communications.
One of the ways we're starting to do this in 2025 is by leaving X and instead joining Bluesky, an alternative platform that offers users more control over their data, content, and online experience. You can follow us on Bluesky here, or find us on our other social channels below.
