From today, 1st April 2026, Boaz Trust has changed our legal status to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). This will better protect the Charity as we continue to grow and develop our provision and services. It is also a change that means we ask you, as a supporter of our work, to take some specific actions as part of this transition.
Why are we becoming a CIO?
Becoming a CIO is an administrative change that will give the Charity its own legal identity, make it simpler to own and lease more units of accommodation, provide stronger protection for our Trustees, and simplify our governance, allowing us to focus more time and resources on providing safe accommodation, support, and advocacy for those seeking sanctuary who are experiencing destitution and homelessness.
Importantly, nothing will change in terms of the accommodation and support that we provide to people.
Our Charity registration number has changed to 1208208, and our bank account details are changing too – you can find out more about giving via bank transfer on our donation information page here.
If you have any questions about this administrative change, please do let us know. We hope you can join us in excitement about taking this important next step for the Charity and for the people we support.
