Event: Boaz Trust Volunteer Night

Details: Includes presentations explaining the work of Boaz & all the latest news and future plans, together with an African Buffet prepared by one of the Boaz houses.
Please feel free to bring along guests who may be interested in helping with the work.

Event: East Manchester Family Fun Day
Date: Saturday 11 June, 11am - 4pm
Venue: The Grange, Pilgrim Drive, Beswick
Details: Boaz will be represented at this family fun day, featuring an International Barbecue, drumming workshops and live acts, as part of Refugee Week. Includes the
'Escape to Safety' trailer, which gives a free 15 minute interactive

Event: Exodus Shorts
Date: Wednesday 21 June, 6.20pm (Cert 15) £3/2
Venue: Cornerhouse , 70 Oxford Street, Manchester, M1 5NH
Details:

A diverse programme of short films giving fresh perspectives on the lives of refugees and people seeking asylum. Post-screening Panel Q&A supported by the Diversity Exchange Network: Meet the filmmakers and find out about the making of the films.

Taking place as part of the Exodus Festival and Refugee Week 2006 (19 - 25 June) a UK-wide programme of arts, cultural and educational events that celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK (www.refugeeweek.org.uk)

Event: HIV and the African Community
Date: Thursday 22 June, 10.30am prompt to 2pm
Venue: George House Trust, 77 Ardwick Green, North Manchester, M12 6FX
Details: An invitation to African Community Leaders or people working with African
Community organisations. The aim of the event is to increase HIV knowledge
and awareness among community leaders as well as to provide a networking
opportunity. There will be a delicious free lunch and a certificate at the
end.

Event: Exodus Arts Festival
Date: Saturday 24 June, 12 - 6pm, FREE
Venue: Hulme Park, Stretford Road, Manchester
Details: A unique celebration of arts and culture by Greater Manchester’s diverse refugee communities. Featuring world music and dance from Afghanistan, Angola, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Congo, India, Kurdistan, Liberia, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, Zimbabwe and other countries across the globe.

Plus interactive workshops, children’s activities, international food, world crafts and stalls (including the Boaz stall!)
